Fragment Analysis

Fragment Analysis

BOC Sciences is equipped with state-of-the-art sequencing instruments, analytical platforms and laboratory facilities to support high-throughput, accurate and high-quality oligo analysis. We also employ standardized processes and stringent quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of fragment analysis.

What is DNA Fragmentation?

DNA fragmentation is the process of cutting a DNA molecule into smaller fragments. In the context of molecular biology and genomics, DNA fragmentation is often performed intentionally to generate DNA fragments of a specific size for use in a variety of applications, including DNA sequencing, DNA library construction, and DNA analysis.

Techniques for Analyzing Fragmentation

Techniques Content
Gel Electrophoresis TechniqueBy loading fragments into an agarose gel and applying an electric field, fragments can be separated and visualized based on their size.
Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)NGS technology allows high-throughput sequencing of fragments, resulting in a large amount of sequence information.

DNA/RNA Fragmentation Analysis Services

From fragment size distribution analysis to data analysis, BOC Sciences has a variety of different products and services to help you streamline your fragmentation workflow.

  • Fragment Size Distribution Analysis

Through gel electrophoresis or other analytical methods, BOC Sciences' researchers can determine the size distribution of fragmented DNA/RNA fragments. If more precise size measurements are required, calibration can be performed using DNA/RNA fragment length standards.

  • Base Composition Analysis

By methods such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or mass spectrometry, we can analyze the base composition of DNA/RNA fragments.

  • DNA/RNA Concentration Measurement

We can measure the concentration of the fragmented DNA/RNA sample using methods such as colorimetry, fluorescence or spectrophotometry. This is important for measurement and dilution in subsequent experiments.

  • Amplification Efficiency Evaluation

If the fragmented DNA/RNA will be used for applications such as PCR amplification, amplification efficiency can be assessed. We use to assess the effect of fragmentation on PCR amplification efficiency by using the fragmented DNA/RNA as a template in a PCR reaction, comparing the intensity of the amplification product or measuring the concentration of the amplification product.

  • Application Validation

Depending on the experimental requirements, we can validate the fragmented DNA/RNA for specific applications, such as construction of DNA/RNA libraries, cloning, sequencing, and so on.

  • Data Analysis

BOC Sciences offers a broad portfolio of fragmentation solutions for viewing and analyzing your fragmentation results. By applying our platform, data can be accessed, analyzed and shared anywhere, anytime.

BOC Sciences' Capabilities and Benefits

BOC Sciences can perform the following different types of nucleic acid fragment analysis.

  • 100bp-5kb double-stranded DNA analysis (double-stranded DNA from any source such as next generation libraries, cDNA, PCR products, etc.)
  • 5kb-165kb long double-stranded DNA analysis (long double-stranded DNA from third-generation libraries, long amplicons, genomes, etc.)
  • RNA quality control (Total RNA, small RNA, mRNA, etc.)

BOC Sciences specializes in nucleic acid fragment analysis and is therefore able to provide a professional, high-quality service. We understand the challenges and complexities of nucleic acid analysis and are able to provide customized solutions to our customers.
