What is Tocopherol?

Tocopherol is a class of chemically similar natural compounds including α-tocopherol, β-tocopherol, γ-tocopherol and δ-tocopherol. Tocopherol is a class of fat-soluble compounds with antioxidant and vitamin E activity. It plays an important role in cytoprotection, oxidative defense and maintenance of human health.

  • After tocopherol labeling in oligonucleotides, tocopherol-affinity interactions can be utilized to bind the oligonucleotide to other biomolecules (e.g., proteins), and then the target molecule can be purified using affinity resins.
